Linen Closet mini album tutorial.

Here is a written tutorial on how I made this mini album I showed in my Tresors De Luxe more projects video
.

Covers re 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 and I use medium Graphix brand weight chipboard that I get from Joanns.com or Walmart.com

There are 6 pages in this album.

The base pages:  7 x 9 and 7 x 10

Score the 7 x 10 sheet on the 10" side at 1/2 and 9 1/2  The score marks are indicated by the solid red lines.

Fold on your score marks and attach the 7 x 9 sheet on top to create the base page. You will make 6 of these.

The next step is to make the flap that I attached to the right side of the front of the base page. You will need a 7 1/2 x 9 sheet of card stock. Score on the 7 1/2 side at 1/2 and 6 1/2.

You will fold on both score lines and miter the corners on the 1/2 side. This is where you will attach this flap to the base page. The Right side of the flap is where I used a border punch and punched out a design.

I then folded that to the back of the base page and applied score tape next to the fold to create a tension style pocket.

Next you will create the criss cross pocket style page. Which looks difficult but really isn't.  First you will score the 8 x 10 sheet at 1/2 on all sides as see below.  Again indicated by the solid red lines. You will then cut out the squares that are formed i all 4 corners mitering each as you cut out.

Next you will need to cut the sheet in half diagonal. You can do this with ruler or your paper cutter.

You will need to cut out the square on all 4 corners. Mitering each one as seen below.

You will need to cut off 1 inch of the 1/2 flap on the left bottom side.

Then fold the flaps on the sheet you cut to the front and the other sheet to the back.

Attach the sheet that is on the top right in the above picture to the left side of the base page as seen in the below picture.

Attach the other sheet (the one you cut 1" off on the right side of the page as seen below.

Next take the 10 x  4 sheet and score on the 10" side at 1/2 and 9 1/2 and on the 4" side at 1/2. You can use  border punch on side that is not scored if you wish.  Cut out the squares that are formed after scoring the pages and fold back. Attach the pocket you just made to the back of the base page.

Now do this to the next 5  pages. I have a tutorial on my YouTube channel on how to make the hidden hinge binding, covers and attach the pages to the album.

Good Day Sunshine Mini album

Hello all.

Here is my latest mini album I created. Normally my pages are all the same but in this album each page is different. Check out my video walk through.

Now... As I type this the video of me cutting the pages is uploading to You Tube but i wanted to give you the measurements of each page.

First you will need 6 sheets cut at 8 x 8 and 6 sheets cut at  9 x 8. These will create the base pages. You will score on the 9 inch side at 1/2 and 8 1/2

Page 1
8 x 7 scored on 7" side at 1/2
10 1/2 by 8 score on 10 1/2" side at 4 1/2 and 10

Page 2
9 x 4- score on 9 " side at 1/2 and 8 1/2 and 4" side at 1/2
9 x 4 1/2 score on 9" side at 1/2 and 8 1/2  and 4 1/2" side at 1/2
2 pieces cut at 5x5 score both at 1/2" on one side

Page 3
5x8  score on 5" side at 1/2
10 1/2 x 7 score on 10 1/2" side at 1/2 and 5 score on 7" side at 1/2 and 6 1/2*** When putting this together in the video I did this wrong so I recut pages to make my mistake right.  So cut 6 x  6 1/2 sheet score on the 6 1/2 side at 1/2 and another piece cut at 7 x 4 1/2 score on the 7" side at 1/2 and 6 1/2 and on the 4 1/2 side at 1/2 to create a pocket

8 cut at 7 1/2 x 4 1/2
Score on the  7 1/2 side at 1/2
Score on the 4 1/2 side at 1/2 and 3 1/2

8 cut at 4 1/2 x 4
Score on the  4 1/2 side at 1/2 and 3 1/2
Score on the 4 side at 1/2

2 cut at  8 x 3 1/2
score on the 8 side at 1/2 and 7 1/2
score on the  3 1/2 side at 1/2

Tags for pockets

New simple binding.

Simple yes.. a little time consuming..not really.  But this hinge you can use on anything you want. And if you want to teach a class go for it. If you want to add it to your albums you sell go for it. There is nothing holding you back and you don't even have to pay for it

See a few weeks ago I got a message on YouTube from someone claiming I'm teaching their techniques. While I have never claimed that I "created" any way to make albums this really irritated me.

I have learned so many techniques from so many talented ladies throughout my years of crafting.  On YouTube, in store classes and at crops and in books. (I'm not talking about her book either as I didn't waste my money on it)

13 years ago I used to sell Stampin' up and learned most of my techniques through them. Then I sold Close to my heart. I have been to many crops and have picked up tricks here and there.

We often duplicate what we see. That's called "Casing". We all do it in one form or another. For someone to send me a message telling me to stop making tutorials is crazy.

This person never did answer me in what I supposedly copied and in the mean time I've been researching these "techniques" online, YouTube and through books. I found many examples of the same things I'm doing and teaching  all the way back to 2002. So for this person to claim she created these technique is totally bull hockey!

See I first saw a hinge binding system on a blog back in 2009 by Kathy Black at www.bublyfunk.typepad.com. Then I saw on YouTube by one crafter, how ever slightly different, then on yet another site which shall remain nameless. Who originally created it you say... Who freaking knows. All I know is it's been out there for long time, in one way or another.

So with out further ado.. here is my version!

Scrapbook Folio style 3

Here is the 3rd style folio I made. Check out this video for a walk through.

Now I made a tutorial.

To create the base of the folio you will need
1 - 8 1/2 x 9 Score on 8 1/2 side at 1/2, 1 1/4, 7 1/4 & 8
4 - 6 1/2 x 9 Score on  6 1/2 side at 1/2
2- 6 x 9

Attach 2 of the 6 1/2 x 9 and 1 6 x 9 on each side of the  8 1/2 x 9 sheet.

The first panel on the left and right of the main page will contain 3 pockets

2 - 7 x4 - score 7 at 1/2 and 6 1/2 and 1/2 on 4  side
2- 7 x 5 1/2 - score on 7 inch side at 1/2 and 6 1/2 and 5 1/2 side at 1/2
2- 7 x7 score on 7 inch side at 1/2 and 6 1/2 and 7 inch side at 1/2

Attach the 7x7 pocket down first then the 7 x 5 1/2 pocket then the 7 x 4 pocket

The 2nd panels will contain 1 pocket.
2 - 10 x 4 1/4 score on the 10 inch side at 1/2 and 9 1/2 and the 4 1/4 side at 1/2.
Attach this pocket on the right side of the page with the folded edge of the pocket just a tiny bit away from the fold of the page.

The 3rd panels will contain  the multi pocket page which looks harder than it is to do. And many sligtly harder to explain in words. LOl

2- 7 x 9 1/2 score on the 7 in side at 1/2 and 6 1/2 and 1/2 on the 9 1/2 side.
Next you will LIGHTLY make a score mark 1 inch from the left and right side on the 7 inch side. now make a dot every 1 1/2 inches on both sides all the way down the 9 1/2 side. Now cut a line hhorizontaly across the page to the next dot. Creating a slit across the paper. You will do this for all 5 dots.

The little reinforced sheet i made is cut at 1 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches you will measure 3/4 from the top and make a line across the paper. then a line 1/4 from both the left and right side. Do not cut past the 1/4 line. Now this piece can be attached to the pocket page.

Now flip the folio over. The first panel from the middle will be left blake. This will be the covers of the folio.

The 2nd panel will contain a pocket.

2 - 5 x7 score on 7 inch side at 1/2 and 6 1/2 and the 5 inch side at 1/2
attach to the bottom of the page.

The 3rd panel will contain a full pocket.
2- 10 x 6 1/2 score 10 inch side at 1/2 and 9 1/2 and the 6 1/2 side at 1/2
attach to the page. creating  full pocket

The tags measure
2 @ 4 1/2 x 5 1/2
2 @ 5 1/2 x 5 1/2
2 @ 8 1/2 x 5 1/2
2 @ 2 1/2 x 4 3/4
2 @ 4 x 4 3/4
2 @ 5 1/2 x 4 3/4
2 @ 7 x 4 3/4
2 @ 8 1/2 x 4 3/4
2 @ 8 1/2 x 5 3/4
2 @ 8 3/4 x 5 3/4
2 @ 5 3/4 x 8 3/4 or 1 8 1/2 x 11 folded in half
